No Pain and All Love for Zach Lavine

All I can say is that it’s about damn time. Zach Lavine is finally an all-star (officially, because Bulls fans have always known he’s an all-star) and is getting the recognition he deserves. Bulls fans have been clamoring over the past few seasons for Lavine to be recognized by the league, and this season he’s been too good for anyone to ignore. With Doctor Eggman (Jim Boylen) gone as head coach this season, Lavine and the rest of the Bulls have finally been able to play their way and fully showcase their abilities under the guidance of new head coach, Billy Donovan. Lavine may have been playing at an all-star level the past few seasons, but with the Bulls organization being abysmal overall, it was difficult for him to get any sort of recognition from the league and fans outside of Chicago. The Bulls have been in the basement of the league standings the past few seasons and weren’t really making any noise at all. But now, as of this writing, they are currently in the playoff picture in...

The Cubs Make Me Sad

You don't have to be a Cubs fan to be aware of the fact that they might cause their fans the most pain (omg he said the name of the blog title) out of all of the Chicago sports teams. I mean come on, it took those guys 108 years to win one championship. Just one. And now, it doesn't look like they'll be seeing another championship anytime soon. Sure, they'll be competitive in their weak division, but they definitely don't look like a team gearing up for a World Series title anytime in the near future. Over the past few weeks, the Cubs have lost the following players: -Yu Darvish -Jon Lester -Jose Quintana -Tyler Chatwood -Victor Caratini -Jason Kipnis -Albert Almora That's basically the entire starting rotation gone in one offseason. Thankfully, the Cubs still have Kyle Hendricks (For now. More on that later), Alec Mills, and Adbert Alzolay, who I think is gonna absolutely shove this season. They also brought back 2015-16 folk hero, Jake Arrieta. I'm not ag...

On the Fence About Wentz

We've all seen and heard the rumors this past week about Carson Wentz potentially being traded very soon. I'm not gonna lie, I figured that by the time I wrote this blog post that it would've happened already. Thankfully for many Bears fans, such as a myself, a deal for Carson Wentz is taking longer than we expected, and that could be a good thing (if you're anti-Wentz being a Bear).   I've read a few different things about Wentz recently. One of them was that he would rather be traded to the Colts than the Bears. If this is the case, then I'm fine with it. (Screw you, Carson. We'd rather have Deshaun Watson anyway.) If Wentz wants to go to the Colts, then Philadelphia should trade him there and let the Colts give up a ton of draft capital for him. In case you couldn't already tell, I'm not a huge fan of the idea of trading a bunch of draft picks and young talent for Carson Wentz. The other reasoning that I've heard for why a Wentz trade hasn...

Introduction: Welcome to "Pain", my blog and what I feel everyday being a Chicago Sports Fan!

Pain:  physical suffering or discomfort caused by illness or injury. You just read the definition of the word "pain". It's the feeling that my beloved Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls and Cubs cause me almost every day. Technically, they don't physically cause me any illness or pain, although I do feel a little sick to my stomach when I think about the double doink, Alec Martinez, Derrick Rose's knees, or the Miami Marlins.... So maybe they do actually cause me physical pain. I don't know. But what I do know is that in my many years of Chicago sports fandom, these teams sure have caused me a lot of emotional pain.  I know, you're probably thinking "dude, it's just a game, it'll be okay" but I'm in too deep. My love for sports and these teams started at a young age and I haven't looked back ever since. These teams are constantly messing up and pissing me off, but I still love em. It's kind of like a toxic relationship.  If yo...
